New and old bs

Its hard to believe a year ago this time I was still in florida, god do I miss it down there. Its also crazy to think I was 25wks pregnant this time last year. Its been a little over a year since I found out I have lupus from that day until now my life has changed so much, some days this disease makes it so difficult to get out of bed because I'm in so much pain. I thank god everyday for my baby girl because without him she would not be here, and no matter how much pain I'm in I still push myself everyday to get up because I know my little girl needs me to help her grow. And everyday I pray to him so that she doesn't have to go through what I go through everyday.

I'm so thankful to have friends and family in my life. Its crazy to think that missed out on so much of my siblings lives because my mother is such a vindictive person and holds grudges for so long. I found out from my grandmother (biological father's mom) that my mom promised her that she would stay in contact with them but after 18years she thought I was still living in california, when my mother and step-dad moved us to massachusetts. But another fact is that my mother had found my grandfather and 2 older sisters on facebook and never told me, this was 2 years ago, before my dad and grandfather passed away. Even after all this, I'm just thankful to have people who love me unconditionally.

I'm done venting/rambling. Good night.

surprises in life

Hi bloggers,
I know I haven't posted an actual blog in a while. So much has happened in the past month; a lot to do with family, mostly good and a little bad/upsetting.

Well I'll start off with the bad/upsetting. The bad things with family would be with my fiancée's side of the family has been blowing us off since a little before easter. We've been sending cards for the holidays that have passed (easter and mother's day) and have called 2 or 3 times a week to check in and say hello. What's even worse is the fact that Jeremy's grandmother is 92 years old and is slowly loosing her memory along with becoming extremely frail. The whole thing with them ignoring us is because I was supposed to drop Makenna Leigh off for a couple hours, but she was coming down with a could and was being super fussy and I had to take jeremy to work. 1) They live an hour from our apartment, an hour and 20mins from Jeremy's work, and then an hour back to get her and then another hour back to our place. Which equals a whole tank of gas which is money wasted. 2) Don't want to get the grandmother sick. 3) Parts 1+2= equal me canceling their visit so no one gets sick= again as me lying. 4) They claim poor so they can't meet half way to pick up the baby but they expect me to wasted $40+ in gas one day so I can risk someone getting sick and making my 2.5month old daughter (at the time) more sick and cranky.

One a sad note, after 10 years of searching and trying to find my biological father, come to find out he passed away (march 18,2010) along with his step-father/my grandfather (october 2010). It was a semi-relief that I never got to meet him, because he was never around for me or my 3 oldest siblings.

Now time for the good; after looking and begging my mom and grandparents for info about my biological father's side of the family for the past 10 years I have finally reconnected with them. I have found my 2 older sisters, older brother, and younger sister and brother. Its crazy to think our father had 6 kids in a matter of 8 years. After me being out of the picture for 23+ years this side of the family has opened up to me so quickly and taken me to them with open arms. So I've had an surprisingly exciting/upsetting few months. Its worth it in the end especially now that I have family back in my life after so many years that I never thought I would ever find again.

I'm thanking god for all that he has done for me with answering my prayers and making my family whole again.

Good night everyone. xoxo.

Love,
Samantha

Hard Candy Cosmetic Review

Hey Guys!
I'm doing a review on the brand Hard ♥ Candy. I've been using the liquid foundation called "Just Face It", the concealer "Glamoflauge", the baked bronzer "So Baked Bronzer", the baked blush "Blush Crush - Baked Blush", and the eye shadows "Kal-eye-descope - Eyeshadow Duos" and "Meteor Eyes - Baked Meteor Eyeshadow." I remember when this brand first came out years ago, that was when they were only sold at Sephora. I've absolutely fallen in love with this brand all over again. But anyway here we go w/ my review.

"Just Face It" Liquid foundation: (description) Get perfect skin in one step! This all in one makeup maven is everything you need in 1 bottle. It functions as a primer, concealer, a foundation and dries to a powdery finish. Long wearing formula delivers a beautifully smooth, flawless look with its bendable, build-able coverage. It minimizes pores, regulates oil, and reduces the appearance of fine lines. (4/15/11) I bought the "Medium" color which is a little darker than I am naturally due to the fact that I haven't gotten a nice tan yet. In the description is says it can be used as a "primer, concealer, and foundation." Prime eh I don't think so, I even used a translucent power to hold it on my face better and it made me look semi-cakey. When you use this as a concealer and foundation its amazing! I have severely oily skin, huge pores, and a few "crows feet and laugh lines" but it does what it says. Its amazing because only a dime size amount will cover your whole face and blemishes. Normally I would call this medium coverage concealer, but they says its build-able and I've come to realize its more of a full coverage with a long-lasting finish.

"Glamoflauge" Concealer: (description)A heavy duty, highly pigmented, multi-use concealer that delivers ultimate coverage. The formula blends seamlessly into skin with plenty of play time creating a flawless and natural look perfect for any occasion. You can hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to tattoos! (5/1/11) I bought that color in "Medium" yet again but it matches my skin tone perfectly. When they say "delivers ultimate coverage" it does and you only need the tiniest amount to cover up both under eyes and blemishes (IE: anything more than the top of a pin is WAY to much product). This product also came with a concealer pencil. When they say the product can also cover tattoos it does with a little help of some translucent powder.

"So Baked Bronzer" (baked bronzer): (description) Get baked - not fried. Baked to create a beautiful, dewy yet matte finish, the infused color found in this compact gives the complexion a hint of bronzed color for a sun-kissed look. Add a second layer of color for a deeper shade of bronze. (Bought over a year+ ago) I definitely love the product especially since its baked because you can use it wet/dry. I bought the color in Tiki which is perfect if your not trying to get overly bronzed. The downside is that I personally like a matte bronzer and these have a little too much sparkle to them.

"Blush Crush" Baked Blush: (description) Our marbelized baked blush give your cheeks an all-over warmth and glow. Baked for eight hours, the texture is easy to blend and natural looking. (4/10/11) Bought these blushes and love them. I got the colors Honeymoon and Living Doll. Honeymoon being a dewy peachy-melon color with gold marbling. Living Doll being a soft pink with gold marbling. The colors are very easy to blend and are very natural looking. Again you can use these wet/dry for however dramatic of a look your going for.

"Kal-eye-descope Eyeshadow Duos" and "Meteor Eyes" (baked eye shadows) : (description- Eyeshadow Duos)Perfect palettes of highly pigmented, wet-dry shadows that instantly bring color & eyes to life! The formula has been baked (not pressed) on a terracotta disk, offering wet-dry benefits in a rich, colorful, long-lasting application that's never chalky. Apply "wet" for more dramatic, intense color, or "dry" for softer, more shimmery effect. When "wet" try the deeper tones as an eyeliner. (bought anytime from Spring 2010 to present) I have the colors; Ab Fab, High Maintenance, and Rush Hour. Ab Fab is a hot pink and electric violet color (when wet) and (when dry) sheer bubblegum pink and bright purple color, this product reminds me of something Daisy from Rock of love would wear, unfortunately these colors have no dupes that I can find from MAC or any brand so far. Its definitely not something that I would wear on a daily basis, but its a nice color to wear when going out to a club or bar. High Maintenance is a vanilla-beige and pale bronze-brown color (when dry) and (when wet) its a iridescent white and light sparkly brown color. The vanilla-beige color can be a dupe for MACs shroom/crystal avalanche colors and the bronze-brown is a lighter combo of MACs Patina/Mulch colors. This is definitely the perfect neutral colors for a day look to the office. Rush Hour is (when wet) is a honey-pinky-peach color with a deep chocolate brown, (when dry) its a light espresso brown color with a pink-honey mix. MAC dupes would be; esperesso and combo of expensive pink/motif.
(Meteor eyes description) High-pigment, baked eyeshadows that are buildable, versatile and create endless incredible looks. The swirl of rich colors creates multi-dimensional results for a stare that smolders. These shadows highlight the eyes and will make them twinkle. Designed to be applied either wet or dry, this shadow is baked on a terracotta disc for ultra-rich, long lasting application. Use "dry" for sheer color or use "wet" for intense dramatic color - either way you can easily create the smokey eye look of the season! (5/15/11) So I bought this product because I liked the way it looked. The color (supernova) because it was black with a purple sparkle to it. I love the pay off of the pigment for the black, but I dislike the fall out from the purple shimmer. After testing it a few times I still don't like and probably wont use again.

So for all of the product I really love and definitely will buy again, minus the Meteor eyes shadows. The packaging I absolutely love! Continue to read up on my reviews! Love you all!

Love,
Samantha

Image and video hosting by TinyPic this is what my eyes look like with the eye shadow duos "High Maintenance and Rush Hour", rimmel london "exaggerate waterproof eyeliner", and maybelline nyc "xxl extension mascara" (open eye shot).

♥ Makenna Leigh ♥

Hi Everyone,

Well as of yesterday @ 5:53pm my daughter Makenna Leigh turned a month old! I can't believe its already been a month since she's been born. She was born January 17th, 2011 @ 5:53pm, weighing in @ 6lbs. 8oz., and 19.5" long. The day before she was born was a traumatic day; my chihuahua "Little" who is 12.5lbs had gotten hit by a car which caused me to go into labor. The vet said for as small as she is, she was lucky to be alive. She luckily made it out with some severe road rash (right rear leg), bruising (left flank), and lacerations (nose, chin, and right rear leg). I started going into labor around 4:00pm January 16th, by 11:00pm I was having severe back labor and decided it was time to go to the hospital. When I arrived there they checked and I was already 4-5cm dilated, so they admitted me. By 2:00pm January 17th my o.b. had started having me push, by 5:53pm (4hrs of pushing later) I was holding my beautiful baby girl.

Love,
Samantha

2010 to 2011

Hello Beauties/Followers,

I can't believe 2010 will be over in about 40 minutes. WOW this year is definitely flying by. I'm really happy this year is ending hopefully 2011 will be better. I have exactly a month from today till my daughter is due (yes I'm pregnant!). This year has definitely had its up and downs (a lot of downs), but its making it worth living.

I'm getting really excited for the birth of my first child, moving into my new apartment with my fiance, and becoming a first time mom. I know being 24 almost 25 years old I should have finished my degrees before becoming pregnant, but I'm happy with the outcome because my doctors said that after my miscarry I had last year that I only had a 10% chance of getting pregnant again, but exactly a year later I am pregnant (35weeks 4 days) and extremely excited.

Well I'm off to sleep not a very exciting NYE but when you are as pregnant as I am, you like to get to bed pretty early lol. Good night everyone and BE SAFE!

XOXO,
Samantha

SEPHORA COLLECTION Mineral Loose Powder Foundation/Lasting and Perfecting Corrector

I know I've done a product review on the  Mineral Loose Powder Foundation (Price: orig. $18 now $10) but I gotta say again, that I absolutely love this product. I recently found out that Sephora is discontinuing it and luckily I received a gift card for Christmas so I bought another one to keep as a backup.

Now time to rate/review the Lasting and Perfecting Corrector (Price: $15). I went into Sephora recently because I have really bad dark eye bags (due to sever allergies). I needed something with medium/full coverage and this is definitely a great product. I've used Rimmel London blemish concealer and its nothing compared to this product. For $15 I would/will be purchasing this again. It covers my blemishes and dark eye bags extremely well. Rating this product from a 1-10 I give this product an AMAZING 10!!

Good Luck my beauties!

XOXO,
Samantha

E.L.F. (Eyes Lips Face) 100 Shadow Palette

Hey Fellow Bloggers,
Alright so on "Black Friday" as the ladies in my family have created a tradition to go shopping on this totally crazy day. I was checking out the EyesLipsFace.com website aka E.L.F. Cosmetics and say that they had a 100 shadow palette for $10, well I wouldn't ordered it online and paid shipping but I decided to check out target before hand because I know that from time to time they do carry the E.L.F. Products.

So I walk right up to the cosmetic department and what do I find, the palette that I was looking for! One thing of love about shopping in my area (Nashua, NH) you don't have to pay tax on anything!! Well anyways the display was pretty picked over and I almost had to pick a fight with some younger girl (probably under that age of 18) to get it, but this Momma got it and it was the last one. I also got the last duo mascara as well (the Waterproof and Original).

The colors are extremely pigmented. The one thing I wish was that they didn't mix the shimmer and matte colors. I wish they had made them into a Shimmer and Matte Palette, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. I'll be posting some pics of looks that I have created at a later time. I'll also be adding some swatches from the palette and individual pics of the palette itself.
